Self Study Project - Masaai Desert

So here's a piece that I've finally finished after a very broken schedule working on it while sick. I learned a lot here, but I'm glad to put it behind me as I think it shows a lot of the skills I really need to improve: textured surfaces, depth and lighting. Good exercise though!

Sadly I have only three weeks left to work on the project. Losing three weeks to illness was not ideal, so I'll be painting and sketching as much as possible in the following weeks.

Edit: I also revisited the Xhosa Pier piece due to some advice from a friend, I think it's framed a little better now.
